How to wear kundan-style jewellery with modern clothes
Choose one loud piece
A kundan-style necklace already holds the colour and the metal. If you add matching jhumkas, skip a second necklace, a stack of bangles and a maang tikka unless the occasion is bridal.
With a plain silk blouse or a black dress, the set reads as fashion rather than costume. With a fully worked saree border, a pair of studs is often enough.
Mind the scale
Chandbalis sit wide. They need the face and the neckline to have some air. A high bun or a low ponytail both work. Hair that covers the lobe hides the earring you paid for.
Check the drop length on the product page before a ceremony. A 6 cm earring will touch a high collar.
