What a protective coat does

On pieces marked anti-tarnish, a coat is applied to slow darkening from air, perfume and sweat. It is not a promise that the piece can be showered, swam or stored in a damp bathroom.

Put perfume and hairspray on first. Wait. Then jewellery. Water, lotion and talc are the usual reasons a gold tone turns patchy.

A small habit

A soft dry cloth at the end of the day, then the pouch. Do not use silver dip, toothpaste or boiling water on plated fashion jewellery.
